The Information Research Institute (TIRI)
New information technologies are constantly changing the way we live, work and relate to each other. From computerised databases to mobile telephony, the Internet to biometric data, technology is creating new opportunities and challenges for policy makers, industry and individuals.
The Information Research Institute (TIRI) was established in September 2003, as one of ten new institutes created by Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) to drive its research activities. Broadly, we focus our research on the techniques and processes used in creating, acquiring, storing, transmitting and exploiting information.
